Inside Of Tara Lipinski

Tara Lipinski is so down to earth and awesome! I’d love to have her for a friend.

If you don’t know who she is than you probably live under a rock. She’s this great athlete that has this natural talent. A talent that brought to the Olympics!

She became the youngest person to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 15. I didn’t know that almost didn’t happen. She mentioned in the podcast that her anxiety got to her so much she almost didn’t do it. Luckily her mom was there and helped her get focused again. During the episode she mentions the rivalry she had with Michele Kwan.

She also mentions what she tried to do once her skating career was over. She moved to LA and tried acting. She does it from time to time and has even done voice over acting too. Now she can mostly be found on NBC Sports being a commentator for figure skating alongside former fellow figure skater Johnny Weir.

Since the day they have met they have been great friends and have the best of times working together.

One thing I enjoyed the most was hearing about her childhood. She began her crazy skating adventure at such a young age. She was competing and winning when she was 5 years old. She went to this mall in Texas when she was younger and trained for hour before going to school. Because her parents valued education over anything else they had her stay in school instead of being home schooled. I find it so interesting that she had an actual career at the young age of 5 and was competing and went to the Olympics before she was even 16.

She looks so graceful in all the pictures of her skating. Makes me wish I could skate. I’d be great to be graceful like that. It’s great to hear how focused and determined she was at that young age. She’s a real inspiration.

Now go check out this episode for yourself! You’ll love it! It’s a great one.
